Day 3: Write a poem about the moon

Waning

Do women understand the waning moon?

As she lets go of light and prospective life, shedding her unnecessary soil with the grace of a grandmother.

Release

to cleanse, mourning the loss of seed.

She becomes sensitive to dark places, the depths of the ocean floor,

without,

but this mystery does not frighten, instead lifts the veil between

world and subterranean.

How when it is new and she is done giving, the planet turns dark, dried up like a crone

and empty of all contents.

Connect to the underbelly, that you have enough blood to fill the seas.

How we manipulate the cycle,

how we forget.
